does nexium prevent calcium absorbtio

i have been using nexium for the past two years without stop, i also take a calcium & vitamin D tablet every day, i am 53, my question is would nexium prevent the absorbtion of calcium in my body? am i at risk of osteoporosis?

Thanks for your question. Nexium (generic name: esomeprazole) is not known to cause low calcium levels. You said that you are taking calcium and vitamin D daily - that's a good start to preventing osteoporosis. It's important to make sure that you're getting enough calcium. For women over the age of 50, it's recommended that you get 1200 mg of calcium daily.
