Q: My operation is to remove polyops from vocal cord,biopsy,and check my esophigos what to expect?

I don't know what to expect I will be operated on to remove polyops from my vocal cords, and do a biopsy to see if thier is cancer, as well as check my esophogus due to gerd.  How long will be my recovery, and whats the chances of cancer?

I wish I were able to give you more specific information regarding this. Surgery is stressful on everyone. Unfortunately because every situation is different there is no way for me to give you specific information about what to expect. You should call your doctor's office and ask to discuss this with either your doctor or someone who works with her to give you more information.

 

All of your questions are great questions to ask the doctor and while she may not be able to give you specifc answers about the chances of cancer, etc. She may be able to give you a general idea. She should however be able to give you specific information concerning the procedure and what to expect.
