What can I take with the zantac for a quick relief while waiting for zantac to kick in?

Thank you for your question. Zantac (ranitidine) is an H2 blocker, preventing the effects of histamine in the stomach. It usually takes about 2 hours to reach maximum effect, but in the mean time you could try Tums or another over-the-counter antacid. However, the antacid that you're using for fast relief may reduce the effects of the Zantac. You can find more information about Zantac here, and about Tums here.
