I now suffer from severe hiccups, due to acid reflux.On any given day I can get 8 or 9 bouts, that can last from 1 hour to 7or 8 hours.To say that my diaphram is sore is an understatement.I dont drink carbonated beveradges any more,and A doctor at A walk in clinic prescribed me novo chlorpromazine, its A sedative and all it makes me want to do is sleep.Is there anyone out there that knows about my condition that can help? thank you, Bruce S.

OH my, sounds like a very frustrating situation. Can you get a referral to a specialist? Not sure if you need a GI doctor, Ears Nose and Throat (ENT) or pulmonologist (breathing specialist). Maybe someone reading this post has discovered a specialist who knows how to help.
Don't give up. There is hope of figuring out a way to get some relief.

Seriously, you need to go to a gastroenterologist to have an endoscopy done. That is the only way to see what is going on down there. It sounds to me like a safe bet is hiatal hernia, which can be corrected with laprascopic surgery, but I am not a doctor. A walk-in clinic does not have staff that are sufficiently specialized to recognize gastro problems, such as yours.
