Hi Debbie,   Thank you for your question. Nexium can cause bone pain, back pain, and in some patients, osteoporosis. If you are concerned that you may be having bone problems, this is something that you should discuss with your doctor. You may need to have a bone density screening done to test for osteoporosis. The bone density screening is a painless, noninvasive procedure that tests how solid your bones are.   Best of luck! Casey
