Q: slight stomach pain above the navel area, stool not free and coming in little quantity

Often times when we get constipated the pains are felt above. Basically if the plumbing below isn't working it backs everything up. If you have new and persistent constipation, you should discuss this with your doctor who will be able to help you come up with a plan as well as thoroughly examine you to make sure the cause isn't something very concerning. It is also important that your doctor determine if constipation is indeed the cause of the symptoms you are having. Only by thoroughly examining you will he be able to determine the cause of your symtpoms.

 

In the mean time, you may want to make sure you are drinking enough water. You can also keep a food log to see if anything you are eating is causing your discomfort.
