Are there long term side effects of OTC Omeprazole? My Dr. has me taking one a day.

I had major difficulity  with certain foods getting trapped.  My Gastro MD

stretched my esophagus and advised me to take an OTC Omeprazole once

a day with no end date.  I now have been taking it for almost 3 years and I

am concerned about possible long term side effects of the medication.  I also

am taking a statin for cholesterol maintaince.
