Lori, Heartburn Heartburn in a child is similar to an adult. It can feel like a tightness in the chest or pain high in the chest. Sour Feeling Some children and adults have a bad taste in the mouth. When stomach acid mix with food and are regurgitated into the esophagus and throat, it tastes sour and may burn the throat and chest. A burp or belch will bring acid up and lead to a sour taste in the mouth. Sometimes I can smell the odor of the food that has come back up again. My kids sometimes say" I just threw up in my mouth". Sorry to be so graphic. Hope you weren't eating at the computer as you were reading this message! Jan Gambino
