Q: I have been diagnosed with Barrett's Esophagus and I'm wondering how long it takes to turn into canc

I have had heartburn for many years. I used to take two 800 mg Tagamet until they didn't work anymore, and then was put on Nexium ( 1 per day ). Although I rarely have heartburn anymore, my doctor done an Endioscope of my esophagus and found that I had Barrett's Esophagus. He has given me Reglan to take before breakfast and before supper, along with my Nexium. Is this going to take care of my esophagus?

My doctor showed me pics of my esophagus and it looked pretty bad to me. He recommended that I have another scope test done in 1 year. From the pics I saw, I think it should be checked sooner.
