It is possible that acid reflux might be the cause, but you won't know for sure unless you see your doctor. While online sites are great places to get information so you can ask all the right questions, they can not take the place of your doctor's advice and care.
There are several conditions that can affect the tongue. One is thrush (see the link below about painful swallowing) which is a yeast infection caused by candida that can affect the tongue and make it be sore and irritated. There is glossodynia
which is an irritation caused by eating or drinking something that is an irritant to the tongue (I got this when I used to eat wasabi cashews all the time, lol)
