Thanks for your question. People can react differently to different medications. There are a lot of variables involved in diagnosing and treating any disease. You should tell your doctor about your condition and see what he has to say about it.

Before going to your doctor, you may want to learn more about acid reflux, as well as about how it is treated. You can discuss this information with your doctor to help better understand what may be bothering you.

Yes, this is normal. Some people take 3 or 4 courses of the reflux medicane bfore their reflux finally settles. If you have taken the 14 day course, then ask your doc if you can take another, the doc will prolly say no prob, even though the back of the box says wait 4 months till ya take another course. But with the consent from your doc, its ok to take another 2 or 3 courses. Some people never stop taking the meds, depends on how bad it is. But yea, 3 weeks to a month is typical timing for reflux synthoms to settle with meds. But it can surely take longer. Others also might need a different type of med than the next person, our bodies all react to differently to differnet meds that seem like theyre be=assically the same thing. It just takes one simple ingredient to make a med react differently between people. But, yes, its typical to be on meds for a while with acid reflux. Keep taking them till you feel better, and once you do feel better, let your doc know, and ask him/her if you can stop taking your meds. They can affect you badly after like a year of taking them though. So try to get well soon, using the right diet and steps.
