Can u contract Herpes just by sex or can it lay dormant??
I attended a sexual clinic with my partner yesterday, he was advised to go by his GP. We found out he had HERPES, now im confused cos as far as i was concerned if it's on your genitals then its sexually transmitted. As i know i have never had this virus on my lips or lower so is it possible for him to have caught it without sexual contact with another person??? Please put my mind at rest! Also is it possible i now have it? Thanks G

Hi G,
Herpes can in fact lay dormant - most people who are infected never have outbreaks. But that doesn't mean you have it. You should also get yourself tested to put your mind at rest.
