can a regurgitation followed by chest pain cause a person to pass out for a few seconds

My 25 year old son called me stating he had just finished eating and was taking the trash to the dumpster when he experienced regurgitation followed by chest pain.  The next thing he knew he was on the ground with a knot on the back of his head.  Apparently, he passed out immediately…
