Thanks for your question. I don't know much about veterinary medicine, but Carafate (sucralfate) is used in humans to treat stomach ulcers. It works by coating the ulcer, and preventing the stomach acid from reaching the damaged intestine while the body works to repair the damage. You can read more about Carafate here.
