Hello!

You and your son will need to work together to figure out a "reflux diet" that works best for him. Some children find that certain foods trigger symptoms. High acid foods such as tomato, oranges, orange juice are often the cause. Sometimes spicy food causes more symptoms than plain food. Equally important to what he eats is how he eats. Chewing slowly and carefully, eating small meals and not gettting too full is often just as important. My kids have a hard time with soda and high fat foods.

If he is overweight or obese, cutting back on sugar and high fat foods is important.

As a parent, it is easy to come across as the "food police" watching every bite that goes in...I try to stockpile healthy foods so there are lots of appealing choices and bring my kids to the store to make decisions on what to buy.

Good luck,
