Q: I've gained 6kgs since starting Nexium 20mg once daily beginning of august

I was diagnosed with IBS/Spastic Colon and a hernia on my esofogus beginning August this year and prescribed Nexium and Trepeline. I have gained 6kgs since and have since stopped taking the trepaline. Could it be the nexium that is making me gain weight as i have never been one to gain weight and generally hover around 59/60Kg. What can i do? I am also suffering with dizziness - is this a symptom. Is there a natural product that can be used in place of nexium?

Gaining 10% of your body weight in a month is very concerning. While both Trepiline and Nexium list weight gain as possible side effects you have had a sudden significant increase and should see your doctor.
