intense burning in mouth at night extends to lips, causing mouth ulcers and eating problems

I recently stopped smoking after more than 50 years I was smoking 50 cigarettes a day when I stopped. I use nicorette which now I am addicted to as much as I was to cigarettes, infact nothings changed other than the way I get nicotine. I now have a very sore mouth and some kind of ulcer on my gum...
