Q: Is it normal to have a constant cough from acid reflux?

I have had this cough for over 6 months now. I get a burning in my throat when eating and sometimes when I drink liquids. The only thing that seems to help the burning is a strong soda which I do not need since it contains acid.  I have now come down with a cold and needless to say this doesn't help because I have sinus problems also.
