Are there reactions with Nexium and Cipro and Famotidine

Brent

I took a Nexium this morning.  The Cipro that I am taking for a bacterial infection and the indian food I had tonight are not mixing well.  I have some heartburn. Can I take a 20mg famotidine pill?  I know I can't take tums...

You need to discuss any mix of drugs with your doctor and/or pharmacist. That said, many doctors do prescribe Proton Pump Inhibitors such as Nexium along with H2 blockers such as Famotidine (Pepcid). I take Prevacid at night and a "booster" of Zantac in the morning when I'm having a difficult spell.
