My son, who is 22, has been diagnosed with acid reflux by ER doctors. However, his pain radiates in his left underarm and down his arm and he is beginning to now hurt in his lower pelvic area.

Thanks for your question. Pain radiating down the arm and into the pelvic area is not among the common symptoms of GERD. However, GERD can cause problems with coughing, the exertion from which could potentially cause aches and pains in other areas. However, this is just an outside possibility and you should have your son talk to his doctor to find out what exactly is causing these symptoms in him. He may want to try using this symptom checker for some background information before seeing the doctor. I hope this helps.
