Q: About 3 months ago I started having odd tastes in my mouth. First it was a metallic taste, then changed to a "spicy, peppermint, soap" taste... now it's only "spicy" taste/sensation. Any ideas?
I have heard a lot of people complain of a similar symptom and many do relate it to reflux. Have any of your doctors suggested the possibility of reflux? My Mom says her tongue burns when her reflux is flaring which sounds much like the spicy sensation you are describing. Another possibility is that it could be due to medications or vitamins if you were taking any before it started.

I would like to know why Ive been having so much trouble with my tongue Its alway slimmy Ive tried lots of other medicine Like garbage mouth antibiotics Nothing works I've had it for 5 months or more.....Hope you can give me a answer Thank you

I haven't really gotten a reflux diagnosis. I think I will try to see a gastroenterologist. I stopped taking all meds and vitamins I was taking before to see if that would help. It didn't.
