Q: Right side abdominal pain with nausea and bloating that goes away during menstruation

I have had digestion problems and stomach pain for about a year.  Symptoms started shortly after taking Yaz birth control.  At first, I just had acid reflux which I treated with Prilosec.  I then started having pain in my right, upper abdomen.  The pain comes and goes.  It's usually more of a pressure, but at times can be extremely painful and is usally accompanied with nausea and stomach bloat.  I have had an ultrasound which showed uterine polyps, but the pain is much higher.  I then had a hidascan which shows that my gallbladder function is normal.  I have now spent thousands of dollars on tests and doctor visits which have provided no answers.  If anyone has any suggestions, I would really appreciate it.

I am experiencing the same problem but I am on hormone replacement for menapause.  It almost feels like there is a softball or melon under my breast area on my right side sometimes.  It feels like there is so much pressure it makes it uncomfortable to breathe.  I had my gallbladder checkd also and it was ok.  I am at my wits end as mine seems to occur when I eat so I am trying hard not to eat much.  I am just miserable.

I do have a couple of small lumps on my right side as well.  At first, my dr. couldn't feel them.  When he did, he said that they are like fatty cysts or tumors but wasn't concerned about them.  I have noticed that the lumps are larger when I'm having a lot of pain.  Hopefully we'll figure out the cause and start feeling better soon.  I have thought about going to an endocrinologist, thinking that this might be all hormone related...

I really don't think I have any real lumps there I just think it feels like that is where the (gas or whatever is causing this) is located and it feels like it is balling up at that location.  I understand what you mean by it is not extremely painful just uncomfortable.  I don't double over in severe pain, it just feels like to me like when I have stuffed myself to a point where I couldn't fit another morsel of food in my belly and it doesn't go away for a long time.  If I find out it is hormone related I am going to be so mad since I have avoided taking hormones for years because I was afraid of any side effects.  Hopefully someone will answer and give us a direction to go in.
