Q: background information on Acid reflux

I just want to know when infant acid reflux was first heard of.

Hello Adrienne, I am guessing here...maybe someone else has a better answer! I know that adult reflux has been around for a LONG time. Infant and childhood reflux may have been under diagnosed and misunderstood in the past. In the 1950's babies were diagnosed with colic. While there is still some controversy about the definition of colic and what causes it, a more recent study at Brown University found that many babies with colic has symptoms of reflux when tested.
