Q: Chest Pain?

I'm a young, 23 y/o, healthy female who's never had any health issues other than seasonal alergies. Within the last week or so, late in the afternoons or early evenings, I experience a pinching feeling in the upper right hand corner of the left side of my chest (towards the middle of the breasts). What could be causing this? I'm not exhibiting any other symptoms that could be considered worrisome so I'm curious.

Hello!

Chest pain always needs to be reported to the doctor. Let us know what you find out.

SmileHi hellison

Take Jan's sound advice first and my tale second!

I went to the docs last June as I was getting pain underneath the left breast and left armpit. I had no other symptoms but the pain got a bit worrying. Went to the docs and as I was 40 and female I was sent for a mammogram (all clear!). The doctor said it was probably hormones and to take Evening Primrose oil - which I did but the pain was always there, especially at bed time. 6 months later I had full blown and severe "silent" reflux oesophagitus - still none of the typical reflux symptoms like acid taste, burping etc. I now recognise the pain as part of GERD and with a healthy diet, prescription tablets etc I am learning to get things under control.

Get yourself checked out and if the doc says you are okay and "it is just hormones" then at least follow the diet and lifestyle advice on this site.

Lots of luck

Suze
