Q: What is causing my pain?!

I have pain in the lower right hand side of my abdomian. It feels kind of like period pain except it is only on the right side.  I first started experiencing this pain about 2 weeks ago for 4 days, then it stopped. But now it has started it up again.

I have had no other symptoms with it. At first i thought it could be appendicitis but it doesnt really match. I have no idea what is causing the pain!

Hi Rab123,

Persistant pain with no obvious cause is reason enough to see your doctor. While it might just be a false alarm, it could be something really serious. It's best to err on the side of caution. Here are some links to information that might help.

Here is a posting outlining the symtoms of appendicitis.

You can read about GERD here in the overview and you can check your symptoms here in the symptoms database. Once you have seen your doctor, if he prescribes medication for GERD, you can read about them here in the drugs database. You can also research treatments available and alternatives here in the treatments database.

I hope this helps. Please stay in touch and let us know how you are doing!
