Dear Grandma Shelley, I have found that the pharmacist often knows a great deal about side effects from medication. Make sure your grandson is receiving the correct dose for his age and weight. See if the medication has any hidden ingredients that may cause him to react. You could ask the doctor for another brand of medication and see if the rash goes away. Babies get hives and rashes for a variety of reasons: food they eat, baby formula and even from laundry detergent. Good luck with tracking down the cause of the rash.
