Q: i get acid refux - do i have to keep taking altosec for the rest of my life?

found that i can't do without this medication - heartburn otherwise

Hello Caroline,

While medication is very important to control damage to the esophagus, you might be able to decrease the need for medication by modifying your diet, reducing or eliminating trigger foods, elevating the bed for sleeping and more. There is much info on this site about non medication approaches to managing GERD.
