Q: I am a singer and now I can no longer sing, as my voice cracks , etc...............my gastro dr. se

sent me to an ENT dr. who scoped my vocal chords and found nothing wrong with them , and they think it is silent gerd, as I have no heartburn, etc...................I have been taking Protonix for four years, as I have AVM's, and my gastro dr. increased it to a second one a day to maybe stop the silent gerd, but then I started getting headaches, so I stopped the second protonix myself................I also have a large hiatal hernia, which I have had for years.................is that dangerous??? Otherwise, I am in good health for a 70 yr. old woman and only take one other pill and that is five mg. of Ziac for blood pressure.......................

Hello! You might need to get a referral to a voice specialist, speech language pathologist or a larynologist. A local hospital near my house offers free voice screenings. Maybe your hospital offers this service. I read a study a few years ago about opera singers with GERD so you are not alone.

Keep trying until you find your voice!

I think I heard that Hot Totties were a great remedy.  Why don't you whip yourself up a batch or two and then you won't care how you sound.
