Q: Does acid reflux cause coughing?

Coughing can be a symptom associated with reflux. Coughing is a protective reflex that removes irritants such as acid from the airway. Excluding infectious diseases, extra esophageal reflux is one of the most common causes of chronic cough. Reply

YES IT DOES MY HUSBAND HAD ALL TEST DONE AND THE RSULTS WAS ACID REFLEX. hE HAS BEEN COUGHING FOR 3 MONTHS AND ITS WORSE AT NIGHT. hE SLEEPS WITH HIS HEAD UP ON MANY PILLOWS. DURING THE DAY HE COUGHS LESS.
