Q: is there a medication for 9 month old babies with acid reflux?

My grandson is a healthy 9 month old.  He is breast fed. He wakes up at night, his mother feeds him, he goes back to sleep and fifteen min. later he is crying again, this goes on 4  times a night.
When he wake during these he acts like he's in pain, lots of times he doesn't even open his eyes.

Hello Connie,

Positioning, diet and medication are the common treatments for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease. You and the doctor can work together to develop a treatment plan that decreases or eliminates the symptoms.

There are several options for medication with many brands and types for the doctor to consider. Your doctor will be in the best position to decide which medication, if any will help.

Take care,
