Q: bronchitis and GERD related problems

Have had GERD diagnosed for about 20 years.  Diagnosed with asthma about same time and now at age 75 with emphysema.  Latter diagnosed due to tests related to lung cancer.  So, with hard coughing it seems that my stomach can't take it.  Despite meds, have lots of heartburn, reflux.  Is there anything I can do to relieve this.  I sleep with head elevated, try to keep fluids high, etc.
