Q: I have been recently diagnosed with Focal Barrett's Esophagus. What does the "Focal" refer to? (in other words, how is it different than just Barrett's Esophagus?).

In general focal refers to a small area whereas generalized will be more widespread. It's still Barrett's though and is still something that should be monitored no matter how wide spread it is.

Thanks for your help

.  That was my "instinct" - that it still is Barrett's.  I've certainly started to change my eating habits, etc.
