GERD and PPIs

I have been formally diagnosed with GERD for 5 years. They put me on 20 mg of Prevacid. THen swithced me to 20 mg Nexium. It has been working well until the last month, and my GERD got much worse. gastric bypass surgery for gerd/ barrett's?
