People with stomach woes such as acid reflux and irritable bowel
syndrome (IBS) lose the equivalent of one day of work per week, a
new study suggests. Researchers questioned patients who suffered
from IBS, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and functional
dyspepsia (FD). They found that those who suffered from IBS and FD
missed the most work, but GERD sufferers were not far
behind--missing an average of 6.3 hours per 40-hour week.
