A patient with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) says that a low-carbohydrate diet relieved the painful symptoms of his heartburn. Joe and Teresa Graedon of The People's Pharmacy say that patients in a recent study who ate a low-carbohydrate diet had significantly fewer GERD symptoms than those who were not on a low-carbohydrate diet.
