According to two California doctors, peppermint oil may ease irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The menthol in peppermint oil helps calm the intestinal muscles responsible for the pain, bloating, and diarrhea associated with IBS. But though the cure is natural, the doctors say too much peppermint oil can affect the liver, kidneys, and hormone levels.
