A drug used to treat heartburn and acid-reflux symptoms may be useful against chronic heart failure, a Japanese study has found. The small study, which included 50 patients with heart failure, found that those who were taking the over-the-counter antihistamine Pepcid showed fewer heart-failure symptoms than those who did not take the drug.
