Fentora approved for sudden, severe cancer pain

The Food and Drug Administration has approved the opioid drug Fentora (fentanyl buccal) for the treatment of breakthrough pain in people with cancer. Breakthrough pain is intense pain with a rapid onset and short duration. Fentora is partially absorbed through the cheek into the bloodstream, making it faster-acting than drugs absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract. Read more »
