The Indian drug company Dr Reddy's Laboratories Ltd says that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved a generic, over-the-counter version of the drug Prilosec. Omeprazole is used for the treatment of stomach ulcers and heartburn, and according to the company the generic drug will begin shipping between July and September.
