Stomach pain may be allergic reaction

Experts say that one in 10 Americans suffer from chronic stomach problems. And for some patients, antacids and other medications do not relieve pain. But now researchers at the Mayo Clinic say that some chronic bloating, gas, and stomach pain may be caused by an allergic reaction. Early results from their study suggest that 'functional dyspepsia' is caused by inflammation in the small intestine. Researchers say that may mean patients have an allergy to some food or other substance. Read more »
