Coated aspirin no safer for the stomach, experts say

If you're one of the many people who take coated aspirin to protect your stomach, Harvard experts say plain aspirin may have the same effect on your stomach as the more expensive tablets. Though the coating on 'buffered' aspirin does keep it from dissolving in the stomach as quickly, it's the way the medication works to control pain that causes the stomach damage, not the tablet itself.
