A store-brand version of one common over-the-counter heartburn medication is now available in drugstores. Omeprazole is a generic version of the proton-pump inhibitor Prilosec. While Prilosec is available without a prescription, experts say the new store-brand versions of the medication could help save consumers more than $100 million annually.
