Every year more than 150,000 Americans who suffer from gastroesophageal reflux disorder undergo an invasive surgery called fundoplication to prevent acid reflux. Now an Israeli company has developed an endoscopic device, the SRS system, that performs the same function as fundoplication without requiring open or laparoscopic surgery.
