Prilosec may lower stomach acid better than Pepcid, study suggests

Patient with chronic heartburn who treat their symptoms with over-the-counter medications may get more relief with Prilosec than with Pepcid AC, a new study suggests. In a two-week study, patients who took Prilosec had lower levels of stomach acid than patients who took Pepcid AC. Researchers say that the patients who took Pepcid may have developed a tolerance to the drug after a few days. Read more »
