A reader who takes Coumadin asks Joe and Teresa Graedon of The People's Pharmacy if it's safe to take the over-the-counter med Pepto-Bismol with the drug. The Graedons respond that Pepto-Bismol can cause problems in Coumadin users because it contains the aspirin-like drug salicylate.
