Acid reflux eased by the right doctor, drugs

A Danish study has found that people who have chronic acid reflux feel better when they're put on a proton-pump inhibitor (PPI) drug by a doctor that they trust. The review of 11 studies found that patients felt more satisfied if they were put on a PPI such as Nexium, Prevacid, or Prilosec than if they took a H2-receptor antagonists such as Zantac. And patients appeared to be more satisfied if their doctor explained to them that their treatment may not relieve heartburn 100 percent.   Read full story >
