Consumer Reports IDs best value heartburn meds

Americans may be paying too much for heartburn relief, according to a report from Consumer Reports. According to the magazine, GERD sufferers pay approximately $240 per month for the proton pump inhibitor (PPI) Nexium and $236 for Protonix, compared to $24 for a month's supply of Prilosec. The report also found that no one PPI worked better than another.
