FDA Rejects Axanum and Expanded Nexium Indication

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has rejected two drug applications meant to extend the patent protection on AstraZeneca's Nexium. One request is for Axanum--a combo drug that would pair the active ingredient in Nexium with aspirin--and one requesting a new indication for the use of Nexium.
