Which Wines are Better Choices for Acid Reflux Sufferers

Acid reflux sufferers are urged to avoid alcohol entirely, but a reader of Wine Spectator wants to know if there are any wines that are unlikely to spur heartburn symptoms. According to do Dr. David A. Johnson, some studies suggest that white wine may be less easily tolerated than red wine, though he points out that these studies would not meet the criteria necessary to make it a broad recommendation. Johnson suggests that knowing your acid reflux triggers, as well as losing a few pounds, may enable wine aficionados to enjoy these beverages without setting off unpleasant acid reflux pain.
