Overcoming the "Winter Blues"

9)      Keep up social activities. Although it is tempting to “hibernate” during the cold winter months, keep up social activities and contacts. Host a gathering once a month to keep friends and family together. Use the phone and email to stay in touch with others on a daily basis.

10)  If your mood does not improve for a period of time, contact your medical provider to see if treatment would help you. Rather than having the “winter blues” you may be suffering from seasonal affective disorder and medication or other treatment may be helpful.
